The Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification program was developed by the American Payroll Association in 1985 as a method of serving the interest of those working in Payroll by establishing respect for Payroll as a profession rather than a technical discipline, by maintaining high standards in the industry, as well as by recognizing those individuals who have proven themselves to be among the top ranks of the industry.

In year 2000 the Fundamental Payroll Certification Exam (FPC) was offered for the first time ever. This certification was developed to promote the standard for payroll professionals that is accepted by the business community and the public at large.

The CPP Course

This is intended to prepare intermediate to advanced level Payroll Professionals for the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) Exam. This is an intensive Payroll "body of knowledge" review course requiring an estimated 6-8 hours per week study time plus the weekly review sessions.

Any CPP who needs recertification hours can take the class and receive CEUs.
